Greetings. My 2023 NHL Draft Report is ready. The PDF link is available below the photos. Inside you’ll find:
Draft 101 — 5 W’s on the 2023 draft, write-ups on the draft process, and the draft order for picks 1-224
Draft lottery year-to-year histories — I could never find accurate summaries for every lottery draw since 1995, so I made it myself. Lots of info here.
NHL Team reports — a statistical breakdown of five-year draft trends (last five first-rounders, leagues drafted from, positions, etc), plus each teams draft pick slots for 2023, top-5 prospects, summaries on state of team, state of farm system, and draft outlook and potential targets.
Prospect depth charts — again, nobody does this, and it blows my mind. I break down every non-NHL regular into positions with contract expiry, rights expiry, and age. Biggest reason for the draft report’s late-June release is getting this right, because teams make changes from 6/1 to 6/15.
Top prospects for every team — brief summaries on every club’s top prospect at the forward, defense, and goalie positions. This is a new addition for 2023
